So, I had my first and only guitar lesson with Waylon Bugtong. Here's a picture of him with his guitar.

Waylon liked to perform Barry Manilow songs in the style of Devo. I was pretty young and not experienced in such things, but when he played "Mandy" it seemed like he might be having a "spell" as Grandma would call it.
I didn't learn anything about the guitar from Waylon, but I did learn that even the strongest of mints can't overcome breath so bad that it would shock a buzzard off a gut wagon.
